Since 1966, innovation and ergonomics serving professionals and patients
In 2026, Tecnodent celebrates an important milestone: sixty years of experience in the design and manufacturing of ergonomic dental and medical chairs and stools.
This anniversary tells the story of a journey built on research, innovation and a strong design culture. From 1966 to today, the industry has undergone profound changes: technologies, clinical environments and professionals’ needs have evolved. What has remained constant is Tecnodent’s approach: developing reliable, ergonomic solutions designed to deliver consistent performance, improve daily workflows and enhance patient comfort.
Sixty years therefore represent not only a milestone to celebrate, but also a starting point to continue innovating with the same passion and commitment that have always guided the company.
From our origins to an international benchmark
Tecnodent’s history began in 1966, in a small garage near Bologna, at the heart of a region that has helped make Made in Italy synonymous with quality, innovation and design.
From the very beginning, the goal was clear: transforming professionals’ needs into functional and reliable solutions designed to ensure maximum comfort and precision throughout every clinical activity.
In 1967, the first Tecnodent chair was developed. In the following years, the company invested in the development of new production technologies, ergonomic research and the selection of increasingly high-performance materials.
Among the most significant milestones are the creation of the first LINDA in 1978, the development of the ergonomic stool range during the 1980s, and the launch of PLUTO in 1999, which became one of the company’s iconic products thanks to its distinctive and eye-catching design.
The experience gained in the dental sector led to the creation of Tecnocare, the division dedicated to specialist medical chairs, where design expertise and knowledge developed in the dental field are transferred to new clinical applications.
Every evolution has been driven by the same principle: observing professionals’ daily work and transforming their needs into concrete solutions.
Innovation serving people
For Tecnodent, innovation starts from the real needs of those who use our solutions every day.
Each product is designed with the goal of improving treatment ergonomics, benefiting both professionals and patients, while ensuring optimal comfort and smoother clinical workflows.
This philosophy has guided the development of a range of innovative and ergonomic dental chairs, medical chairs and stools that are now appreciated and recognized in numerous international markets.
Technology becomes a tool serving people, combining ergonomics, functionality, reliability and design.
The value of Made in Italy
Made in Italy has been part of Tecnodent’s history since the beginning and remains an integral element of the company’s design and manufacturing approach.
Every chair and stool is created through the integration of ergonomic design, high-quality materials and extensive customization possibilities. The result is a range of solutions developed to meet the needs of professionals, distributors and OEM partners, combining reliability, design and functionality.
Behind every solution are designers, technicians and collaborators who share a working culture based on quality, precision and continuous improvement.
Quality built to last
The quality of a medical chair is measured over time.
Every day, Tecnodent and Tecnocare chairs support dental and medical professionals in their daily activities, standing out for their reliability, comfort and consistent performance even in the most demanding working environments.
Ergonomics, durability, hygiene and a high level of customization are the elements that define every project, creating solutions designed to meet the needs of professionals, healthcare facilities and international partners looking for uncompromising quality standards.
Durability is not simply a technical feature, but a strategic choice. Selected materials, high-quality components and a design focused on reliability make it possible to create chairs engineered to withstand years of intensive use while maintaining functionality, stability and performance over time.
Growing with responsibility
Tecnodent’s evolution is not only about products, but also about the way the company operates.
In recent years, Tecnodent has strengthened its commitment to sustainability through concrete initiatives, including the installation of a photovoltaic system in 2021 and the transition to a Benefit Corporation status in 2024.
In 2026, this journey achieved an important recognition with the B Corp™ certification, which confirms Tecnodent’s commitment to creating positive value for people, the environment, communities and customers. Being the first manufacturing company in the dental sector to achieve this certification represents a concrete confirmation of a vision that has always guided the company: innovating responsibly, measuring its impact and continuously improving.
Sixty years of history. Looking towards the future.
From a small garage near Bologna in 1966 to an established presence on international markets, Tecnodent’s journey has been guided by a clear vision: designing solutions capable of improving professionals’ work and patients’ comfort, combining innovation, ergonomics and Made in Italy quality. This growth has also been supported by a strong international network that has helped bring our philosophy and values around the world.
Today, the same spirit continues to drive the development of increasingly advanced, sustainable and customizable products, capable of responding to the needs of an ever-evolving industry.
Celebrating sixty years means thanking all the people who have contributed to building this journey and making every achievement possible: employees, customers, distributors, partners and professionals who choose Tecnodent every day and share our vision.
We look forward to celebrating this important milestone together with you. More details will be shared in the coming months. Stay tuned!
